Institute of Space Technology (IST), Islamabad Admissions 2017. Institute of Space Technology (IST), Islamabad was founded in the year 2002 under the auspices of Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) as a public sector university. IST is the only university in Pakistan focused on the study of astronomy, aerospace engineering and astronautics. IST is recognized by Higher Education Commission and accredited by Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC). The institute aims at providing outstanding quality education to the national and international students. Academic programs focus on rigorous scientific and theoretical foundations to create professionals with a in depth understanding of the fundamentals and capability of applying this knowledge for research, analysis, and design.

Eligibility Criteria
Following is the Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate Programs:
For Engineering Programs
- Minimum 60% marks in SSC/ O-Level/ Equivalent Certificate (Science)
- Minimum 60% marks in FSc Pre-Engineering (Part-1 and Part-2 combined); however, a candidate must also have 60% marks in Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry.
- A-Level / Cambridge students should have IBCC certificate equivalent to FSc Pre-Engineering with overall 60% marks and must have at least C Grade in each Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry for admission.
- Minimum 50% marks in NAT-IE / HEC HAT-UG-E.
- Maximum age limit of the candidate should be 22 Years
For BS Space Sciences
- Minimum 60% marks in SSC/ O-Level/ Equivalent Certificate (Science)
- FSc Pre-Engineering/ Computer Science/ ICS students can apply for BS Space Science.
- Minimum 60% marks in FSc Pre-Engineering/ ICS (Part-1 and Part-2 combined); however, a candidate must also have 60% marks in Physics, Mathematics & Chemistry/ Computer.
- A-Level / Cambridge students should have IBCC certificate equivalent to FSc Pre-Engineering with overall 60% marks and must have at least C Grade in each Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry/ Computer for admission.
